it's happening at the end of november

So I've booked a week's holiday from the day job, during which time I will be recording my first 'proper' album.  I still haven't figured out HOW to do it

- i suspect I may do it at home in my room somehow (getting as much done as I can before then) - so the week will be spent mixing and maybe doing any new songs that suddenly come to me.

The ugly truth?  I'm not very good at mixing - or at least I don't have very good monitor speakers (these are special speakers that produce a 'flat response' - you can't use hifi speakers that boost the bass or it sounds weird on other speakers)

CAN ANYONE LEND ME SOME MONITORS FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF?

Also I have contracted man flue.  This is to top off a weekend during which I went out on saturday till 4 am and then spent sunday in a haze of 'not enough sleep' unable to do anything constructive except watch smallville on dvd and bits of chitty chitty bang bang (fear the child catcher) and harry potter on TV.

Anyway so i've been listening to the stuff I was coming up with about a year ago before my big creative dip and it's really good for the most part - apart from the quality of the demos which aren't really saleable - so the majority of what could go on the album is floating around - including new songs paper planes and love on tv which people have loved when i 'premiered' them at a couple of east midlands gigs lately.

so everything is going in the right direction.  In the meantime I am also trying to do a new website which will have some beautiful new artwork on it which the very clever craig kirk has made for me.  unfortunately my dreamweaver skills are nearly zero so it may be a lot of hard work to get it 'just so' - and i am a bit of a perfectionist it seems.

I have decided to care less about having a band to play on the album as I can do the instruments myself and use synth stuff where necessary - then i can pick up some musicians as necessary when they've heard how i want the music to sound.  No more mr democrat - these are my songs!

So this is a rambling entry - but remember I do have the man flu
